LOTE
The Language Department at Morley SHS provides an environment where real and
unlimited opportunities for the use of the Target Language promote relevancy and
value of learning a language other than English.
Language Courses in Years 8, 9 and 10.
During the Year 8 course, students study two languages – one language per semester.
There are two Asian languages to choose from and the European language, Italian.
Exposed to a selection of languages in the Year 8 Course, enables students to make
an informed decision when entering the Years 9 and 10 Language Course.
Students select only ONE language to study in the final two years of Lower School.
UPPER SCHOOL COURSES – YEAR 11 AND 12
Languages studied include –
- TEE Chinese, Italian & Japanese
- Advanced Chinese Yr12
- Japanese & Italian for Beginners
Exchanges are conducted with -
- China: Middle School No.2
- Italy: Perugia and Vasto Schools
- Japan: Akashi SHS, Kobe.
